  • Dean's List, students who achieve the best results in each examination period, have a chance to be on the Dean's List and have their tuition fees for the next semester waived.


Hvatasjóður

Hvatasjóður educational fund is a cooperation between by Reykjavik University and Landsbankinn in Iceland. The aim is to secure equality for high school graduate students who hold a first language other than Icelandic to study at the undergraduate level at Reykjavik University. 

The application deadline is until the 5th of June, 2024. Applications shall be sent to skrifstofa-rektors@ru.is , marked Hvatasjóður.

The following documents must be included with the application:

  • Introduction letter (maximum 500 words)
  • Recommendation letter from a teacher or career and guidance counsellor
  • Overview of academic career


The education fund of Sameinaðir verktakar (“United Contractors”) 

The education fund of Sameinaðir verktakar (“United Contractors”) allocates scholarships for further education to students of engineering, applied engineering and computer science at RU that are equivalent to the amount of tuition fees in RU for one semester.

Only those students can apply who are graduating with a first university degree (BSc) and are planning for further education (MSc or Phd) in RU or other universities. Students going to their final semester in applied engineering can also apply for the grant.

Applications for the fund are advertised by e-mail, where you can find an application form. Evaluation of applications is based on academic performance, initiative and daring, according to study overview, introduction letter and references. In addition, extracurricular activities will support the application, e.g. student council, promotional work for RU and teaching assistant jobs. Each applicant can only receive a grant once.
