In one year, this unique programme provides the skills, knowledge and experience required to identify, grow, develop and manage international development projects anywhere in the world. Programme faculty are chosen for their expertise and experience in international development and many continue to work with numerous international non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
International development requires people who possess the knowledge, attitudes and practical skills necessary to manage the human, physical and financial resources of small, medium, and large-scale projects. It is a unique blend of management skills and humanitarian qualities. To that end, this comprehensive programme includes: Core courses in human resources management, operations management, financial management, information systems, and project design and planning. Specialized courses in cross-cultural effectiveness, issues in international and Canadian development, humanitarian assistance, and world geography - all of which provide a global overview of the challenges facing developing nations - coupled with the skills to promote change.
