Interested in being involved as a volunteer, working within a community, getting to know its inhabitants, and living with them - all the while discovering a new way of life and another reality? If, however, traveling alone in Guatemala, or Thailand may seem too daunting for your first experience abroad, the Discovery Programme may be just the answer. Volunteers will have the chance to travel in a unique way: participate in a construction project in a village in Guatemala, work in agriculture in the rural surroundings of Copan in Honduras, take Lahu language classes in the heart of a tribal village in Northern Thailand, or help the staff of an orphanage in the Philippines. Individual programmes: This is geared towards people aged 16 years and over who want to join a group of 7 to 14 peers to experience cultural immersion and international service learning. Group programmes: Group programs for academic institutions (high school and post-secondary) and community organizations wishing to provide an international educational experience for a minimum of ten participants.
