Serving through adventure, the Mzungu Program isn’t about adventures only it's also about being part of a community of like-minded people. Ordinary people, who want to do something extraordinary with their lives, make a difference in the world and make new friends along the way.
A Mzungu Adventure is not just for enjoyment. It is a way for change. Mzungu is guided by a unique commitment to its volunteers and to its communities. To the volunteer it offers safe, responsible travel experiences, exceptional training and career development opportunities, and facilitates the ability to make a real difference. To the local community it commits all project ownership rights and all work is undertaken fully under their direction.
Mzungu is a non-political, non-religious organisation. Mzungu offers educational and life-changing programmes for individuals, families, grown ups and students ages 15-20. Mzungu volunteers come from a range of different backgrounds and from all over the world. Mzungu's aim is to offer the volunteers the necessary assistance required to achieve their goals in volunteering abroad.
Mzungu in Uganda has been chosen to work alongside some of the most neediest communities in the country, including Kawempe, Jinja and Kabale amongst many others. Trips range from 2-weeks to 4-weeks placements and ones which combine volunteer projects and expeditions can run longer.
