The Foundation for Sustainable Development (FSD) reduces global poverty by providing over 300 grassroots organizations around the world with training and key resources to address pressing socioeconomic issues. A leader in asset-based community development since 1995, FSD leverages local resources in partnership with community organizations to address local health, social, environmental, and economic issues. Our unique programs provide hands-on, service-learning opportunities for those looking to gain development experience and make a genuine contribution to an international community. Students, professionals, and retirees collaborate with non- governmental organizations (NGOs) partnered with FSD, participating in development trainings and implementing projects within their host communities. ProCorps Volunteering is ideal for individuals and groups with several years of professional experience in one of the following sectors: health, environmental sustainability, human rights, microenterprise, education, and/or technology. As a volunteer, you will work directly with one of our host organizations as a consultant, applying your expertise to pressing community issues. Your experience is entirely customizable, enabling you to choose where, when, and for how long you will go. FSD Internships are geared for students, young professionals, and individuals taking a gap year, or who are looking to gain international development experience and training. FSD Internships help launch careers in development, international relations, and related fields, and strengthen applications for graduate programs. Internships run year-round, depending on your time schedule and the breath of experience you wish to attain. FSD programs provide continued on-site support through orientation, development trainings, and cultural activities. Each project assignment emphasizes skills transfer so that your contribution is sustainable and continues long after you return home. Our alumni stay involved through FSD's Alumni Connect program, often forming Giving Circles to fund community projects.
