  • Publisher, Editor-in-Chief

    A co-founder of Verge Magazine and the Go Global Expo, Jeff is a well-known voice in the area of international working, studying and volunteering and was writing about gap years before the term even appeared the Canadian Oxford Dictionary. Having worked, studied and travelled on six continents, Jeff is passionate about the important role international experience plays in developing responsible, caring global citizens. He has spoken to audiences across Canada and the United States on subjects ranging from how to plan an international volunteer experience, to developing effective media skills and literacy.
     
    Jeff holds two degrees from the University of Waterloo. Before co-founding Verge, he spent 10 years in the field of experiential education, including several years training experiential educators. Through Verge and the Go Global Expos, Jeff has been helping to connect international organizations and global citizens for nearly two decades.

  • Co-founder, Business Manager

    Two years at Atlantic College in Wales, followed by a gap year, ignited Tannis' passion for international learning and experience. After obtaining degrees abroad from Cambridge University and the University of Chicago, Tannis worked in eight different countries as a consultant in the areas of international development, tourism and the environment for government, non-profit and NGO/INGO clients.

    Tannis co-founded Verge Magazine and the Go Global Expo in 2002. She has managed most areas of the organization, and her work has taken her to all seven continents. Tannis is constantly impressed and inspired by the global community of travellers and learners who work towards making the world a better place, and is always honoured when they choose Verge to be part of their community.

  • Contributing Editor

    Although Jessica has travelled to more than 30 countries, her favorite place to throw down her bag is still her hometown of Cold Lake, Alberta. A freelance journalist, Jess has worked for international development organizations and tour operators. She’s conducted workshops in Vanuatu, perfected the use of a satellite phone in the jungles of Guyana and supervised teenage pool parties in the Dominican Republic. Although she's based in Toronto, Jess works remotely from all around the world.
