After much consideration, Transitions Abroad administration has chosen to cease production of its well-respected print publication, and has asked Verge magazine to step in to fulfil Transitions Abroad subscriptions.
Transitions Abroad magazine, founded more than thirty years ago by the late Clay Hubbs, was unique among American travel magazines for its emphasis on encouraging meaningful cross-cultural understanding through travel.
To be sure, Verge has big shoes to fill and we are flattered to have been asked to carry the torch. Transitions Abroad publisher Sherry Schwartz selected Verge to take on Transitions Abroad's subscription base because of Verge magazine's commitment to high editorial standards and its emphasis on promoting opportunities to work, study, volunteer and travel responsibly abroad.
For us at Verge, this represents an exciting opportunity to reach an even greater number of ardent travellers who plan to work, study, volunteer and travel abroad with valuable, timely information and inspiring feature articles. We are also excited that we will be able to connect an ever wider audience of readers from across North America, with organizations offering travel-related opportunities, products and services.
By building on the strengths of our print and online media and making the most of their synergies, Verge will continue to provide a trusted and authoritative resource for its readers, and a highly effective marketing platform for its advertisers.
We look forward to working together to encourage a growing number of North Americans to travel with purpose.
